Terms of Service

Last updated 4 September 2026

These Terms govern your use of the Reefer Tech Pro website and web application (the "Service"), operated by REEFERTECHPRO LIMITED (company number 9446141, NZBN 9429053830029), trading as Reefer Tech Pro ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to them.

1. The Service

Reefer Tech Pro provides diagnostic tools for Carrier, Thermo King and Schmitz Cargobull transport-refrigeration equipment. It includes alarm-code lookups, wiring diagrams, an AI assistant that answers from service-manual content, decoding of unit downloads, live readings over Bluetooth, unit service history, QR-based driver alarm reports and QR-based technician service logging. It runs in a web browser. We also sell an optional telematics hardware box and a Connect subscription, separately from software plans. With hardware and Connect the Service may include: GPS tracking of a unit from our box (LIVE and History maps — not manufacturer telematics); live sensor streaming of temperatures and engine vitals (return, discharge, coil, ambient, setpoint, engine temperature, RPM and similar — not video or a camera); unit Bluetooth on a phone or tablet at the unit and via the box; and remote unit/logger download over the internet via the box, as well as at-unit USB download. GPS crumbs, extras/live sensors and GDT readings are retained for 90 days and then purged. Hardware and Connect are not included in Starter, Pro or Enterprise unless a written quote says otherwise. A customer's own phone, computer or Raspberry Pi used to run the browser app is their equipment, not hardware we sell, and is not covered as our telematics product. We do not promise a workshop visit, on-site repair, or manufacturer-dealer service. QR stickers are the fleet's, not a visit by us.

We may also offer an optional Voice add-on (sold separately) so a fleet can talk to the Service by phone. Where Voice is enabled, calls may be recorded after a spoken notice that the call may be recorded. PIN entry for Voice stays off the recording. See the Privacy Policy for how call recordings are handled.

2. Accounts and fleets

Accounts belong to a fleet — the subscribing business. The fleet administrator controls who has access and what role each person holds. Fleet software is licensed by unit band, with unlimited people on the fleet. Tech-only is licensed per technician. You must give accurate information, keep your credentials secure, and tell us promptly about unauthorised use. Logins are for your team and must not be shared publicly or resold.

3. People who use the Service without an account

A unit may carry QR stickers that let people submit information without registering:

These people are not parties to these Terms and are not our users. They submit information to the fleet that owns the unit. The fleet is responsible for how it displays QR stickers, for telling its drivers and contractors what the stickers do, and for reviewing what is submitted.

Technician entries arrive as pending and are not added to a unit's history until the fleet confirms them. We do not verify the identity of anyone who scans a QR code, or the accuracy of what they submit. A confirmed entry represents the fleet's decision to accept it, not our endorsement of it.

Anyone who submits information may ask us to remove it — see the Privacy Policy.

4. Your data

You keep ownership of everything your fleet puts into the Service: unit records, imported fleet lists, uploaded documents, downloads, readings, driver reports and service log entries. You grant us a licence to host and process that content only to operate the Service for you, including sending relevant parts to our AI provider to generate answers.

When you import a fleet list or upload documents, you confirm you have the right to do so. Documents uploaded to a company archive are private to your fleet and are not shared with other customers. You may choose to contribute a document to a shared library so other technicians working on that brand can benefit. Private archive documents stay private to your fleet. Do not contribute material you have no right to share. Shared contributions may be used to operate that library.

We may use aggregated, de-identified information — which cannot identify you, your fleet or your customers — to improve the Service.

5. Acceptable use

6. Diagnostic disclaimer — important

The Service is a reference aid only. Its content and AI-generated answers assist qualified technicians and are not a substitute for manufacturer service manuals, proper training, or established safety procedures. Always follow the manufacturer's official procedures and all applicable safety, lock-out/tag-out and electrical-isolation practices. Verify any reading, specification, wiring detail or procedure against official documentation before acting on it. You are solely responsible for any diagnosis, repair or work carried out.

7. Accuracy of decoded and live data

Downloads, decoded fault data, live Bluetooth readings, GPS tracks, live sensor streams and remote logger/unit downloads are produced by our own interpretation of manufacturer file formats and equipment interfaces. These are not official manufacturer interfaces and we are not affiliated with, authorised by or endorsed by Carrier, Thermo King or Schmitz Cargobull. The same is true of optional hardware, GPS tracking from the box, live sensor streaming, unit Bluetooth via the box, and remote download over the internet: they are our products and interfaces, not official manufacturer telematics and not a manufacturer log. Where a reading has not been confirmed against a manufacturer tool, the Service indicates this. Treat any value as indicative until you have verified it against the equipment or the manufacturer's own software. Confirm at the unit. Do not rely on it alone for cargo-integrity, compliance or warranty decisions.

8. AI-generated content

AI answers are generated automatically, can be incomplete or wrong, and may produce different answers to the same question. They are suggestions for a qualified technician to evaluate — not instructions, and not professional advice. Check anything material against the manufacturer's documentation.

9. Trials, plans and billing

We offer a free tier, time-limited trials, and paid plans. Paid subscriptions are processed by Stripe; card details go directly to Stripe and we never see or store them. Fees are exclusive of GST and are in New Zealand dollars unless stated.

Published list prices on reefertechpro.com:

Hardware, Connect and Voice are sold separately. They are never bundled into a software plan. Hardware is sold as a diagnostic/telematics aid. We do not warrant continuous coverage of GPS tracking, live sensor streaming, Bluetooth or remote download, and they are not a substitute for manufacturer telematics or a physical inspection. Fit and use the box only as a qualified person and in line with applicable road and privacy law. The fleet must tell drivers and staff that a unit may be tracked and that live sensors and remote downloads may be read remotely. Hardware is provided as is, except where the Consumer Guarantees Act or other applicable law requires otherwise.

Paid plans renew automatically. When you subscribe, your payment method is charged at the start of each billing period and continues to be charged each period until you cancel. You are not asked to confirm each renewal.

10. Availability

We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. It may be unavailable for maintenance, updates or reasons outside our control. Features may change, and we may withdraw a feature that is no longer viable.

11. Intellectual property

The Service, its design and its software are owned by REEFERTECHPRO LIMITED. Service-manual excerpts, diagrams and product names remain the property of their owners; "Carrier", "Thermo King" and "Schmitz Cargobull" are trademarks of their respective owners. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for your own diagnostic work.

12. Limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law we are not liable for any loss, damage, cost or injury arising from your use of, or reliance on, the Service — including any repair outcome, equipment damage, cargo loss, downtime or lost revenue. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

13. Consumer law

Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot be excluded under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986. Where you acquire the Service for business purposes, you agree that the Consumer Guarantees Act does not apply, to the extent the law permits that agreement.

If you acquire the Service as a consumer in Australia, nothing in these Terms excludes rights you cannot contract out of under the Australian Consumer Law. For US users, these Terms do not limit rights that cannot be waived under the law of your state.

14. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access if these Terms are breached or to protect the Service. You may stop using the Service and request account deletion at any time. On termination we will, on request, delete your fleet's data; some records may persist in backups for a limited period before being overwritten.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by New Zealand law, and the New Zealand courts have non-exclusive jurisdiction. The Service is offered from New Zealand. We have no place of business in Australia or the United States. Some processors we use — including the AI provider, Stripe and our voice provider — are overseas; see the Privacy Policy.

16. Changes

We may update these Terms. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised version. We will notify account holders by email of material changes.
